• Name and email address — provided when completing an assessment or making a purchase
• Phone number — optional, provided at your discretion
• Property address — provided as part of a paid assessment
• Assessment answers — your responses to our electrical health check questions
• Photographs — images of your property's electrical installation uploaded as part of a paid assessment
• Payment information — processed securely by Stripe. VoltScore does not store card details
• Reference numbers — generated automatically for your assessment

3. How we use your data

We use your personal data to:

• Deliver your VoltScore assessment and report
• Process payments via Stripe
• Send confirmation and report emails
• Provide customer support
• Send compliance reminders (Monitor subscribers only)
• Improve our service and assessment accuracy

We do not use your data for automated decision-making that produces legal or significant effects.

4. Legal basis for processing

We process your personal data on the following legal bases:

• Contract — to fulfil the assessment and report service you have purchased
• Legitimate interests — to improve our service and ensure quality of assessments
• Legal obligation — where required by law

5. How we store your data

Your assessment data including answers, photographs and personal details are stored securely. We use the following services:

• Netlify Forms — for initial submission collection
• Google Drive — for secure document and photo storage (UK/EU servers)
• Google Sheets — for customer records and subscription management
• Stripe — for payment processing (PCI DSS compliant)

We retain your data for a maximum of 5 years from the date of your last interaction with VoltScore, after which it is securely deleted.

6. Sharing your data

We do not sell your personal data. We may share limited data with:

• Qualified electricians who review your assessment — for the purpose of producing your report only
• Stripe — for payment processing
• Google — for secure data storage
• Netlify — for form submission processing

We do not share your personal data with electricians listed in our network without your consent. If you request recommended electricians we will share only your area — not your personal details — and electricians will not receive your contact information unless you choose to contact them directly.

7. Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate personal data
• Request deletion of your personal data
• Object to or restrict processing of your data
• Data portability — receive your data in a portable format
• Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent

8. Cookies

VoltScore uses minimal cookies essential for the operation of the website. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. No cookie consent is required for essential cookies under UK GDPR.

9. Photographs

Photographs you submit as part of a paid assessment are used solely for the purpose of your electrical health assessment. They are stored securely and are not shared with any third party other than the qualified electrician reviewing your assessment. Photographs are deleted in accordance with our data retention policy.

10. Complaints

If you have concerns about how we handle your personal data you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or by calling 0303 123 1113.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to active subscribers by email. Continued use of VoltScore following any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
